Very worth it to play for free - you get hours of free content and the class story is great. Also the game's very friendly to playing alts, so you can play out the class stories with different story Light-Neutral-Dark story choices. Some of the class stories have different endings as well depending on your character choices.

GW1 and GW2 both involve cooperation of players, or players and NPCs, or both to obtain goals. The main gameplay difference between GW1 and 2 is one has instances you cannot actively jump in and out of. They BOTH have map instances, though, as anyone who is map hopping in their quest for a beta portal can tell you. 5 vs 5: Stronghold (unranked only) and Conquest (which is the main PvP mode). Custom arenas, Unranked (24/7 aviable, no ranking, anything from solo to full premade allowed), Ranked (~ 2 months long seasons with 2-3 weeks in between, solo and duo queue only, glicko2 based mmr system, mmr based ranking and reward system). The movement and abilities in GW2 are the best in any MMO ive played imo. However do not go there looking for any pvp scene. Its pretty dead and it is plagued with bots and cheaters with free accounts.
The restrictions are nothing compared to WoWs free version. There are still plenty of lvl 80 zones in the free version for endgame content and the great thing about gw2 is even old maps are still full of players and events. There are no dead maps. You will still be able to do fractals as well which is like our version of end game dungeons.
Not a full one. Should I reroll? [Discussion] Hey all - I just got into GW2 to solely focus on WvW. I rolled on Anvil Rock. I rolled this because it’s the highest pop server available to create a character while also being #8 in GW2 WVW leaderboards. But upon closer look, it actually seems it’s a tier 3 realm.
This part confuses me. How is the money paid from online bullies worth more than money paid by people who just want to escape real life and enjoy a game? Or is it because Anet likes the free publicity from cheaters streaming as it could result in other cheaters buying the game to join in on the bullying fun.

The Trilogy has the most content but does not come with the expansion, the Platinum Edition comes with the expansion but only the first game. The Game of the Year Edition comes for free with any product purchased after 2007, ignore this one. If you are certain you will play and enjoy the game get the Trilogy and EotN. There is also this one line " Upgrade to a full Guild Wars 2 account to unlock this swift and agile companion permanently! " which is different from saying "Buy Path of Fire to unlock it permanently" as another line claims " To further train the raptor's mobility and combat skills, accounts must have the Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire expansion .
