After checking out my physically fitness for the sport. I locked on to this beautiful 2008 Honda Shadow Spirit 750 C2.The size was perfect for my 70 in,170 lb frame. the seat height was perfect. No adjustments needed for the handlebars, brake, shifter, clutch or front brake. I gotta tell ya this baby was made for me. I've enjoyed my skills THe 600 is a 4 speed and the 750 is a 5 speed. I got about 48-49 with my Spirit 750. It'll run 80-85, but it doesn't feel real good at that speed. It might be more me than the bike, but I like hanging around 70-75 if the conditions are favorable. I have a riding buddy that has a 600.
I ride a '99 ACE 750 and currently weigh 325. I don't know that there is a weight limit per say.
A friend of mine is looking at bikes, and he can't decided between a Shadow or a Boulevard. He'll be using the bike almost entirely for commuting. Both bikes are 2005, and comparably priced. The Suzuki has 24,000 miles whereas the Honda has only 12,000. Both look to be in very good shape.

I want to take another rider with me on a road trip to Galveston, Texas. I weigh 160lbs passenger weighs 170-180 lbs I have to go over some tall, maybe steep over passes (causeways), does anyone have any thoughts on the weight limit before loss of power becomes an issue. I don't want to hit the incline and start to drag behind traffic.

The 750 (comparatively) has no power. It was the pits at almost any speed and quickly ran out of guts at highway speed. It is very cheaply made and feels like a very small bike. While the 900 looks and feels like a more substantial bike, it is remarkably easy to ride and far more capable in every aspect.
maintain the speed limit just fine. If I were to really want to travel state-to-state I'd want a 750 or bigger. I'm a smaller guy so weight and seat height are important to me and the 600 suits me well in that respect. I've been looking at the Yamaha Bolt lately - it's a 950 and reviews on it are great
